We have had a terribly busy and eventful month this past November and end of October. We are excited to tell you all about it!
We ended October with out Halloween party. On this day we had a Halloween parade for all classes and showed of our cute, scary, and cool Halloween costumes to everyone at school. We also spent some time doing trick-or-treating in the school. We got so much delicious candy! Not to mention that various Halloween games we got to play.
In November we had a medical exam from our usual doctor. We got through the whole procedure very quickly, and hardly anyone cried. We are all getting quite mature!
Early Nursery has been exploring their senses, and they have been having a wonderful time developing their motor functions in their hands at the same time. Noticeably they are now able to follow simple verbal instructions more consistently. Well done EN!
We also enjoyed some new puppet toys. Mr. Riaan took time to share a puppet show with the older children. The topic of the story was about manners and caring about people around us. The children had a fun time and remembered quite a lot of the story and were even able to share insights about what they understood during their reflection time.
Nursery Class has been having fun being creative and making sunflowers. Since it is Autumn, it is one of the best times to enjoy the colours of nature. This task was a fantastic way to explore colours and practise using glue as well.
Preschool and Junior Kindy went to the park as well. We spent some time playing in the park as well as exploring some areas of the park. It feels like it has been such a long time since we last visited the park, and we missed it so much! We also used this time to have a small scavenger hunt for various common items we might find in the park at this time of year, such as bugs, leaves, and acorns.
Finally, we ended this month with the Cambridge YLE exam. Below we can see some images from the Junior Kindly class practicing for the test. For Junior Kindy class, this language test is entirely optional, and for many of them it is their first proper test. We did our best to prepare for this test, but in the end one of out main goals was to have fun and get to achieve a big goal that requires focused effort to succeed in.
We had a great month this month and December is right around the corner. Our activities will only continue to keep us busy during these cold months, and hopefully bring warmth to everyone’s hearts as we partake in the festivities.
